The opening of the lavish new Marriott Hotel in Krasnoyarsk is now being scheduled for 2017 following a building row with contractors.
It had been hoped the five-star venue, spanning 21 storeys and with more than 200 rooms, would have been completed by December last year.
But as it stands only 10 per cent of it has been done, with delays caused by a legal case involving more than 119 million roubles-worth ($2million) of work not carried out.
The Krepost group that had invested in the construction of the $110million (6billion roubles) building had sued main contractor Promspetsstroy. Krepost had terminated its contract with Promspetsstroy in May 2014 amid allegations it had violated terms of the agreement, and the case went to court.

Earlier this week the court ruled that the Promspetsstroy should return the 119 million roubles back to the investment group for the work that was not carried out.
With the legal action now over, it means the search is on for a new contractor to allow the hotel to finally be built.
When it is completed the new Marriott, which is located in the heart of historic Krasnoyarsk, will have 216 rooms and offer stunning views over the Yenisei River and surrounding mountains.

The US-owned Marriott chain describes the hotel as 'a great new addition to our portfolio' - acknowledging the city as a key business hub. With that in mind it will also first class facilities for meetings, conferences and events.
Speaking about the termination of the contract with Promspetsstroy last year Alexey Samoilenko, the director of Krepost’s legal department, said: 'According to the agreement they received an advance of 330 million roubles, but they did not perform the works.
'The contract was terminated but they do not want to return the money. The work that was already done, and with good quality, will be paid for but the rest of money we plan to get back via the court.'
