A brave cancer sufferer who held her dream wedding in hospital has sadly lost her battle against the disease.

Tatyana Uvarova, 27, was at one point given just a week to live after being diagnosed with what was believed to be ovarian cancer in December.

Determined to prove her doctors in Russia wrong, she decided to seek treatment in China, where medics have already said it could be possible to treat her condition.

Months on she even managed tie the knot with her boyfriend Andrey Kuznetsov in an emotional ceremony in hospital in Guangzhou. But on Tuesday she died suddenly from her illness, with even her own mother being unable to say a final goodbye to her beloved daughter.

Friends and relatives are now trying to raise money to have her brought back to her home city of Vladivostok.

One friend, Margarita Belickina wrote on Tatyana's Vkontakte page: 'She very bravely fought for her life. She showed everyone a great example of how to love life and smile all the misery in the face.

'Tatyana and her beloved husband Andrew fought together with the terrible disease, so they have become a symbol of strong and pure love!'

Tatyana, a successful business coach, went to doctors last summer after experiencing a pain in her leg and after seeing a neurologist no one could see anything suspicious.

She then made an appointment with an oncologist and had a MRI scan done and it was found she a cyst, with further tests finding some fluid in her stomach.

Doctors then said she had ovarian cancer and wanted her to begin chemotherapy almost immediately, but she was not convinced by the diagnosis.

In the end she decided to start looking overseas for treatment and while several foreign clinics refused to admit her, she eventually chose to go to China.

Tatyana’s treatment had been costing the couple a lot of money and they were relying on donations and goodwill. Doctors said her wedding helped lift her spirits and there was a noticeable improvement in her condition after the big day.

She had said her vows and exchanged rings on her hospital bed before a party was held by doctors and staff. The new bride was even pushed down the aisle in a wheelchair while wearing a beautiful white dress paid for by administration of the $1,000-a-day facility.

Her final message was posted on her Vkontakte page on June 6, bemoaning the fact that Internet problems had stopped her writing earlier.

She said: 'Hello, my dear! Quite a long time that I haven’t written. During this time there were technical problems with the Internet and my general physical condition was not stable, and that influenced my emotional mood.

'Now I have found inner peace and I’m more confident, thanks to my husband and friends Lena and Yulia, who visit me every day and help in many ways!

'We watch comedies, play ball, and fool around. The weather is sometimes changeable - rain, storms, thunder, then sun, but it’s always hot. Well, cheer up and enjoy the vagaries of nature :)'
