The white swan of Siberia

There’s something special about the old and beautiful churches and monasteries scattered around Siberia. As a not religious person I do not believe in angels - but if they were real I think they would live there. 

Last night I went inside the Sofiyvsky Cathedral, and there was an evening prayer. About seven, ten people were inside and a choir of five girls was singing for them. Tranquility was floating in the air. Quiet voices were raising up and filling up the whole cathedral. 

I could sit there forever watching people, but the prayer was over, and I had to leave.
