A frantic search for a missing nine year boy ended after he was found hidden inside a packing box in his own apartment in Omsk.

Denis Loresh told police officers that he received bad marks for his schoolwork and was 'scared' of his mother's reaction to the poor grades. Picture: The Siberian Times file image

A policeman found Denis Loresh sitting 'quiet as a mouse' inside a box used by his family during their recent move to a new apartment. Reports said the boy was 'sitting as quiet as a mouse' inside the box for more than 24 hours.

Police and teams of local volunteers had been scouring the area for the boy who vanished after coming home from school.

He told officers that he received bad marks for his schoolwork and was 'scared' of his mother's reaction to the poor grades.
