Brown bear ran into small town in Siberia and jumped on teenager for bear back ride

The rampaging beast was noticed on the streets of Nizhneudinsk in Irkutsk region around 10.30 pm. 

Witnesses immediately alerted police, and an armed squad went to patrol the town. 

Meanwhile, the bear got to Sovetskaya street and jumped on the back of 17 years old railway college student Sergey Mikhailov.

It gives a new meaning to a bareback ride.

The teenager - who had just come out of his house when the bear pounced - received claw scratches and a bite. 

'I was walking in headphones and didn't hear a thing,' he said.

'I turned around and saw the bear behind me.'

He jumped on the teenager's back, pushing and biting him. 

'I started yelling.'

The heroic teenager managed to shake off the piggybacking 100 kg beast. 

The animal didn't repeat the attack and went off running.

Right at this moment police squad got to the area and shot the bear dead. 

The brave Siberian teenager went straight to his classes as if nothing had happened.

Irkutsk region police department spokesman said: 'We had a call from one of the eye-witnesses saying there is a brown bear running along the streets as if it was mad.

'That young man must have been born under a lucky star, the bear's attack left him with only a couple of scratches!'

Local rangers checked the bear and concluded that it must have been deranged, which is why it left the woods and went running around the town with a 39,000 population.
