Police seized three tons of red salmon caviar in cases loaded onto a truck, plus a dump containing around 50,000 gutted fish. The arrested could face up to two years in jail. There was a second unrelated 'bootleg' caviar case, said police, as reported by RIA Novosti.

Sturgeon caviar worth $61,000) was impounded after being discovered inside a compartment of the train's dining car en route to the capital.
A suspected smuggler who worked in the dining car was arrested.
Sturgeon fishing in the wild is banned in Russia except for scientific and breeding purposes.
