One of the coldest days of the winter forced a seven hour delay in a tourist flight from Irkutsk to Utapao airport serving the resort of Pattaya.

Temperatures plunged in Irkutsk, delaying the S7 flight.

‘We were told the refuelling equipment was frozen and the flight was postponed to 11.20am,” said one of the passengers.

It took seven hours to fix the problem before the Boeing-757 could depart.
