A female died in the crash, officials confirmed.
'An Mi-8 helicopter belonging to Krasaero had been on a flight from Boguchany village to one of the drilling platforms. During landing, it fell on its side and partially fell apart,an air traffic control course told Interfax.
Later it emerged that the helicopter hit a snowdrift, causing the tragedy.
'According to preliminary information, the helicopter ran into a snowdrift and its tail was cut off by the main rotor blades, due to which the helicopter fell on its right side,' said Natalya Krinitskaya, head of the West Siberian transport prosecutor's office.
The condition of the dozen injured passengers was not immediately clear.
