Heroic driver saves his passengers as fireball bus rampages through city centre

The runaway bus ignited in flames 'in a scene out of Hollywood'.

By luck it missed several pedestrians before crashing into a fence where the runaway fireball bus crashed to a halt. Picture: Vesti.ru

The fire ignited as the bus was passing the city centre in Omsk, and the alert driver opened the doors and ordered all passengers out. He fled too - but the bus, engulfed in flames - kept moving along a busy street in the west Siberian city.

At the top of an incline, the driverless vehicle gained speed as it careered downhill towards a lake, according to reports. By luck it missed several pedestrians before crashing into a fence where the runaway fireball bus crashed to a halt.

'It was like a scene out of a movie,' said a bystander.

The reason for the dramatic fire is unknown but an electrical fault is suspected.

Quick thinking by the Omsk bus driver certainly saved lives .Let's hope the driver is rewarded with a new replacement bus with more fire safety features and of course also more modern comforts.
Great news to hear no-one was injured,;however, a very frightening experience for Omsk bus passengers ,and may they too be rewarded with a two week free bus pass ,
