Jealous woman kills husband in inferno after confronting him over 'girlfriend'

A mother of three burned her husband alive in their home after suspecting him of infidelity.

The unnamed wife covered the floor and furniture with petrol before igniting it - and rushing to the door, locking him inside. 

The couple had earlier had a row when he returned from work over his alleged unfaithfulness. 

'Neighbours called an ambulance and the fire brigade, but the 47 year old man was so badly injured by the fire that he died on way to hospital,'  said a source at the Novosibirsk regional prosecutors, reported Interfax.

The woman - who has three young children - faces up to 20 years in jail if found guilty of murder. The sentence maybe lessened so that she can care for her children. Names of the tragic family were not released.
