Offers to care for smiling orphan Alexander K - known as Sasha - came from many countries after our report about him.
Russian medics say enchanting Sasha is one of only three babies registered in the world with no eyeballs at all.
Yet he is alone in not suffering associated medical conditions: in other respects he is healthy, but tragically will never see.
In October officials in Tomsk announced they were seeking a loving home for Sasha - and now they have told The Siberian Times that they found a family ahead of the seasonal holidays which in Russia are marked at New Year.

Messages poured in to us from people in different countries but there are often difficulties and cumbersome red tape in foreign adoptions.
A warm Russian family has been found to adopt this unique boy.
'Little Sasha was taken into care by a Russian family from a different city,’ we were told by a Tomsk childcare official.
‘They are in the process of getting the adoption documents ready.’

The child is already with the family who are currently his official guardians.
'It happened during the last month,’ said the official.
'Once the documents are done, Sasha's adoption will officially be complete.
‘But even at this stage we cannot reveal any more details about the family.
'We are, of course, very happy for baby Sasha and wishing him and his parents all the best.’

His young birth mother learned about the rare and difficult disability at a late stage of pregnancy and decided that in her circumstances she was not able to care for him.
Her name was not revealed by the local media in western Siberia, although is it known that she went through an orphanage herself and did not feel able to give her son all the help he would need.
The baby suffers from extreme form of rare SOX2 anophthalmia syndrome, and was born without eyeballs.
But Russian doctors see no other impairments in baby Sasha’s development, describing him as ‘completely healthy’.
This makes him unique, we were told.

In October Tomsk doctor Tatiana Rudnikovich said: ‘Sasha is going through all regular check ups and tests like any other baby of his age. He is doing well.’
The closest person to baby Sasha before he went to his adoptive parents was a female nurse from Tomsk specialised children orphanage (pictured).
She took him to St Petersburg where doctors successfully implanted tiny eye orbs to ensure that his face does not grow deformed.
‘He is no different to other children, he plays and smiles just like any healthy baby. He loves playing and adores swimming, he is a very cheerful baby indeed’, the nurse said.
Sasha will need to have new prosthetic orbs - each time a little bigger than previously - implanted every six months.
As for now, doctors say there is no chance that he will ever see.
There are only two other cases of babies born without eyes registered in the world.
Officials wrote on his adoption page that Sasha was ‘a peaceful, smiling baby, he smiles back as soon as he hears familiar voices’.
Svetlana Syrova, the Tomsk journalist who revealed the story about Sasha, said it was 'some special magic in Christmas and New Year' that led to the boy getting adoptive parents.
He will have sisters in his new family and a summer dacha - country house, she said
‘Many thanks to all those who cared about the child's fate,’ she posted.
Archeologists discovered a new stone bracelet, two sharp pins, a marble ring and fox tooth pendants.

Really delighted that he found a loving family. Hope they make sure he is well loved and well educated.
