The bizarre case of the detention of the man dressed in mammoth remains was at Blagoveschensk customs point as he sought to smuggle the relics to China, said an official.
He used sticky tape to attach five pieces of woolly mammoth tusk to his body, and then wore a coat to conceal the goods.
