Strange 'explosion' turns night to day in the Urals

By The Siberian Times reporter
18 November 2014

Emergency services refuse to comment cause of extraordinary blast in the dark sky.

A local observatory indicated nothing fell from the sky on the day of the flash. Picture: Vyacheslav Bulatov

A huge flash lit up the early evening darkness, as shown by images taken from a dashcam on a road close to Yekaterinburg. The sky suddenly turns orange-red at 17.39 local time (though the dashcam records it as 18.39). For the next 11 seconds an orange light with yellow and white in the middle engulfs the entire sky.

'For a few moments night turned into dazzling day, then everything went dark again,' said one witness.

The explosion came on 14 November but images only appeared of it today; strangely no sound was picked up.

Theories for the explosion included a missile or an object from space. Yet it did not have the same shape or pattern as the Chelyabinsk meteorite which exploded over the Urals in February 2013.

'I found nothing about it in the news. Did anyone else see it? What was it? Pictures: Vyacheslav Bulatov

The author of the footage wrote on the web: 'On Friday (November 14 , 2014 at 5.40pm) I observed a flash in the sky, on the road on the way to Rezh.

'I found nothing about it in the news. Did anyone else see it? What was it?'

The glow was also filmed by the teenagers from Yekaterinburg on mobile cameras. The main question from witnesses is 'What was it?'

According to regional television neither meteorologists nor scientists can explain the strange phenomenon. A local observatory indicated nothing fell from the sky on the day of the flash. Local officials  from the Emergencies Ministry refused to comment on the happening.

Maybe a U.S. military strike against either a Chinese or Russian armed nuclear satellite, it was taken out, way up there past the point where sound or any radiation could penetrate our atmosphere. The atmosphere acts as a shield from the suns radiation ! Why not from a nuke detonating in space ? Aliens ? lol. Humans are more dangerous to Humans than any animal or so called aliens, whom I believe to be our fathers of creation out there just watching us screw it all up !

Concerning the red ball/balls of light, just below, the date 14.. and another just below the clock of 18, moving from left to right at 0:18 into the video when the light starts to faint:

I have now studied thise red balls of light in the video over and over, and I'm close to 100% sure they are only reflections in the windscreen glass of the headlights of the oncoming car passing by the exact same time.

Perhaps it was a TR3-B training accident.

Nadia and Brian Thurmann Jørgensen, you are absolutely right !!!

There is indeed one (maybe two?) red ball of light, just below, the date 14.. and another just below the clock of 18, moving from left to right at 0:18 into the video when the light starts to faint:

You need to have full light on the video as well as a full screen.

The odd thing is that, that red ball of light, at 0:18 into the video, is moving east, UPPWARDS!!!

SO...what kind of thing would do that ? going UPPWARDS?

That wasn't nuke in space. Test on that altitude would produce EMP on such large area that whole north hemisphere would lost cell reception and also some satelites. Probably unshielded electronic on the ground would also be cooked

At 0:18, in this video... You can easily spot not 1, but 2 objekts, moving from left to right, just below, the date 14.. and annother just below the clock of 18...

Coincidentally CSTO had a meeting in Yekaterinburg which focused on joint system of air and missile defense.

Nope it isn't a meteorite.
If you look at the right side of the video you can see a red ball of light rush through when the light starts to faint.

It's "moving" towards the camera script because the road (and camera!) is curving to the left

It was a meteorite, watch it carefully as it moves closer to the date of the recording camera. 0.29 seconds of the video.

I'd say lack of official explanation suggest some kind of high altitude nuclear test - maybe ICBM interception test (???). Looking their own seismograph and measuring radiation from space, I bet NATO by now don't need Russians to figure what was it, yet as I know Russia they'll say it was weather balloon which exploded, US exploded nuke in space. or similar ...
