iPhone 4 theft from grave in Yakutsk

A court sentenced a cemetery worker to 16 months in a prison colony for digging up a grave to steal the iPhone. The 36 years old man worked part time at Vilyuiskiy graveyard in Yakutsk.

It was reported that at the end of a day's work he and other gravediggers became intoxicated and discussed a recent funeral. The had seen how a young man was buried and his cell phone placed in his coffin. 

'The man got very drunk and was inspired by the idea of owning that phone,' said a local source. 'He dug up the grave, broke opened the coffin and stole the iPhone'. 

The cemetery worker was not named but was found guilty under the a criminal offence linked to 'damage of a burial place', said the prosecutor's office in the Sakha Republic, Siberia's largest region.
