Footage of a mini tornado captured on a car dash cam in Siberia has gone viral on the Internet. Novosibirsk resident Dmitry Bryukhov was driving along a road in a clear sunny day when the strange funnel appeared beside him.
Uploading the video to his page on the Russian social media site Vkontakte, it has impressed local people although meteorologists have cast doubt on whether it is a read tornado.
According to Anna Lapchik, the head of the Hydrometeorological Centre of Novosibirsk, there needs to be a sudden weather change to form a tornado, including differences in the atmospheric pressure and temperature. This is accompanied by a hurricane wind.

Instead she suggested it appeared more like a dust storm.
She said: 'We did not even have a strong wind that day. That is, there were not conditions for such a phenomenon, for a tornado.'
But residents in Novosibirsk have criticised the weather experts, with one person writing online: 'Meteorologists do not believe the video and do not want to admit the obvious fact, how can they predict weather?'
