Suzanna Gubasheva, 42, born in Novosibirsk, was extradited after being on the international wanted list for 17 years, during which time she flitted around Europe using multiple identities, leading her to be nicknamed 'the Siberian Jason Bourne'.

Belatedly, she now faces justice in her homeland over allegations that she lured two men she knew to a flat where she and four accomplices tied them up, beat and raped them, according to the Russian general prosecutor's office.

They recorded the sexual activity and used it to blackmail the men, it is claimed.

She and her gang stole 3,000 roubles and $200 in cash from the victims but also demanded $21,000 in return for not spreading the video and photos of the rape scenes.

Within five years she obtained Swedish citizenship, too, it is claimed. In 2013 she was detained in Italy and put under house arrest.

But she escaped, and returned to Sweden where she received a 'new passport'. In September 2014 she was finally detained in Spain.

During her time in Sweden she wed a local estate agent under the name Helena, it is alleged. They lived together for eight years and have a daughter.

Unknown to him, she also used a fake name to be his business partner - who he never met, despite arranging lucrative deals for him. According to Swedish Aftonbladet, he had no idea she was involved in crime or was on the international wanted list.

In September, they went to Spain to celebrate her husband John's birthday. They were at a restaurant when the police arrived and handcuffed her.

Gubasheva graduated from Novosibirsk State University in 1994.
