Two more fatal helicopter crashes raise safety questions

The second crash involving oil workers in recent days led to four deaths in Kedrovy settlement, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Region. An AS-350, the helicopter  belonged to the air company Sokol and was working for Lukoil. 

It was confirmed today that another victim of last week's Arctic crash in Krasnoyarsk region had died. This brings the toll of the Mi-8 crash at Igarka to 11, not 15 as widely reported by international media.

Some 14 victims remain in the regional hospital. Of these, eight are in intensive care, and seven are in an extremely 'difficult' condition. 

Today an Mi-2 tourist helicopter crashed in the centre of Elizovo town, in Kamchatka, in the extreme east of Russia. The helicopter belonged to tourist company Purga. Technician, Pavel Putintsev, 60, died in the hospital. 

Totally there were three people onboard, two are in hospital. Investigations are underway into all the crashes.
