Happy to be a mother again - polar bear lavishes love on new cub

At one moment, the proud mama appears to play hide and seek with her new cub, born on 7 December 2015. 

The baby bear doesn't see her and Gerda gently taps her from around the door of her lair at Novosibirsk Zoo.

The video shows her constantly watching, nudging, and even seeming to kiss her new arrival. 

The new cub is getting bigger and now walks, but is not yet too steady on its feet. 

'We don't yet know if it's a boy or a girl,' said a zoo official. 'Cubs are tiny when they are born and spend first months of their life next to their mama.'

Gerda was captured on camera two years ago in loving embrace with her first cub Shilka, now sent to a zoo in Japan.

The magical pictures seemed to show the ultimate love between mother and daughter. 

The papa of both her cubs in Kai, now in a separate enclosure at Novosibirsk Zoo.
