Near miss as S7 plane pirouettes on ice at Novosibirsk airport

A camera at Novosibirsk's Tolmachevo airport picked up the near miss as the aircraft, recently arrived from Beijing, turns more than 90 degrees close to the terminal, and near a parked S7 Tupolev passenger plane.

A camera at Novosibirsk's Tolmachevo airport picked up the near miss as the aircraft turns more than 90 degrees close to the terminal. 

No-one was hurt, and the problem - on 14 December - was rapidly over. The problem was slippery conditions caused by a sudden slump in temperature from 2C to minus 20C causing ice to form on the surface. The video went viral. 

Comments included: 'Why aren't they using winter tyres?' and 'They changed their mind and turned to go back to Beijing.
