Woman driver who got her new car on Valentine's Day hits pedestrians at crossing

Believed to have been distracted by her cell phone, she mows down people as they cross the road in on Russky Island near Vladivostok.

Her dashcam recorded the horrific accident as the unnamed driver fails to stop at a red light and ploughs into pedestrians cross the street. 

Seven people were injured, and two were kept in hospital. There were no fatalities. 

The pedestrians suffered spine injuries, fractures and concussion on a crossing on Russky Island.

One of the injured was a student from the Far Eastern Federal University.

The 46 year old woman had received a new car, a Toyota Camry, on 14 February, Valentine's Day.

The accident was two days later. 

Police are investigating the incident.
