Vladimir Zhukov has called for the resignation of prosecutor Dmitry Podugin, claiming he is letting down local people.

'All night long Vladimir Zhukov spent out in the cold, standing in front of the building of Angarsk city prosecutors office as a start of his  indefinite hunger strike', said a local administration statement. 'Zhukov is sick and tired of how inactive the prosecutor's office is in sorting Angarsk citizens' personal complaints and on checking out various other misconducts in the city.'

The mayor 'spent all night long in the cold, standing up. He is not sitting down in a car nor taking any food.

'Local people come to him to express their support'.

Pogudin have so far refused to talk to local journalists over the long-running dispute with the mayor.
