With nowhere else to sleep in the world's coldest region, Yakutia, the geologists had to remove the animal from their temporary residence, a converted container - but the wild animal did not want to budge

The scientists came back from a day at work to their spartan temporary home to find a bear had moved in, searching for food. There were no signs the beast intended to move out.

With nowhere else to sleep in the world's coldest region, Yakutia, the geologists had to remove the animal from their temporary residence, a converted container - but the wild animal did not want to budge.

The geologists had not been issued with guns.

So they improvised and tied a knife to a wooden pole.

They used the makeshift spear to kill the intruder through a broken window.

But then they couldn't budge the heavy carcass from their home.

A video shows the tethered bear being pulled out of the truck by a Kamaz truck.

Elsewhere in Russian media, I have seen reports that they did not kill the bear, but merely tranquilized it...
