Do not try to repeat it - Siberian teenager is set on fire before diving five floors into a pile of snow. Picture: youtube

Named only Sanya - Alexander - he walked away, limping slightly, after his leap which was captured by a friend and has gone viral on the Russian internet.

Video footage shows him a rooftop as another teenage apparently sets him on fire. The flames ignite on the lower part of his body.

Spectators cheer him as he makes his death defying leap. He evidently wanted to appear like a rocket as he dived, head first, with flames behind him. from the roof of a five storey block at 118 Sotsialisticheskaya Street, in Barnaul, southern Siberia.

Children were among those watching the shocking jump, the video showed.

Locals called police. The teenager told officers at the scene that this was not his first experience of extreme activities.

'I am into this kind of extreme things, I have been doing it for several years now,' he said.

Police warned him of the dangers 'of such thoughtless and hasty actions which can cause grave traumas and fractures'.

Is Siberia that boring that people will risk death just for something to do? If he thinks he'll get a call from a movie studio one day, he's totally wrong. They want nothing to do with risk-takers like this. Imagine the insurance costs if your stuntman risks death every time he does something. They much prefer people who can 'make it seem as if they have done something very dangerous while keeping them selves from harm as their top priority'. Did you read that fly boy?

In a weird way it is nice to know that Siberian teenagers can be just as stupid as American teenagers! We really are very much alike.

He is young, silly and therefore perfectly normal.
