This one made for a remote train station, believed to be Tarbinskaya in Krasnoyarsk region, as shown on the video footage below. The creature lunged at the station window, protected by metal bars.

A male voice calls to the bear 'Mishka, Mishka' - the name Russians traditionally give to brown bears.

One picture shows the bear clawing at the window in a bid to come in.

But another picture suggests people were taunting the bear by putting food within sight inside the window, encouraging the animal to come close. Or maybe the bear really wanted to travel by train? The images, recently uploaded on the Russian web, were probably taken last Spring since currently Kransoyarsk region is covered in snow and bears are still hibernating.

Last year brought a number of warnings of bears - short of food - coming close to villages, towns and even cities.

For example, the authorities in Bratsk in September reported more than 60 calls from residents complaining of bears on the streets.

The hungry creatures were sighted in the suburbs and heading towards the city in Irkutsk region.

Blame was put on poor growth of berries and nuts with bears are turning to urban areas in search of food, raiding bins and rubbish heaps.

Around the same time, a bear stealing cattle was shot in Novosibirsk region after it killed a bull in a village. Two policemen were called in to shoot the creature.

A day earlier a bear attacked a man in Khakassia region. He reach hospital unaided but his condition was said to be serious.

Close to Kransnoyarsk city, rangers warned tourists of the dangers of bears in Stolby Nature Reserve.

Around 30 browns bears are known to live there and in recent years summer tracks used by walkers have had to be closed due to fears of attacks.

Specialist Vladimir Kozhechkin said: 'Most of the predators don't come close to people. But lately, tourists and staff of the reserve keep meeting the animals.

'It happens because this year there is not enough food for the bears. That's why they more often come to people, their houses, to places where tourists regularly stop in the hope of getting some food'.

Its as usual typical with us humans, we come in an area depopulate or exterminate as we did with the natives, as my own ppl [being born in so ca, usa] did in the 1700s and 1800s. Now we invade the areas of wildlife and than put the blame on them, the natives animals. It makes me disgust about being an human being. When does we ever learn.

For now all have a nice day, and a great weekend.

Love Rob.

It is so sad. But also cruel to tempt this poor hungry bear with 'nibbles' on the other side of the glass. Of course, bears will be bears and they know that where there are humans, there is also food.

They also have a right to live and if we encroach into their territory then what do we expect. As mentioned it has been a bad year for berries and other food that the bears survive on.
