Thai tourists fly thousands of miles to witness Lake Baikal’s unique seals

Playground opens on the Ushkany Islands on Baikal where tourists can see these unique animals in their natural environment.

Foreign and Russian tourists are making their way to this remote but fascinating site on the lake.

They have the chance to see the unique Baikal ‘nerpa’, a small seal that live only in waters of the world deepest and oldest lake.

The seals are found nowhere else on the planet.

A special viewing platforms allows visitors to observe the creatures.
